Amigos

This year we are partnering with Amigos for Christ and the Amigos Academy. In the past, most of our Nicaragua mission offerings have focused on clean and safe water. This year we are focusing on education and investing in future leaders.

In Nicaragua, only 55% of children graduate from 6^th grade. That’s nearly half a country left behind. Amigos for Christ is changing that. The Amigos Academy, in the rural community of La Chuscada, provides quality education that focuses on excellence, innovation, and being a model for other schools. Equipped with the best teachers, curriculum, and technology, the students are receiving one-of-a-kind opportunities to develop and thrive academically.

Many of the students are in families who are food insecure. For the 2024-2025 school year, The Water’s Edge has a big goal of providing a cost-effective, nutritious breakfast and lunch for all the students and the staff.
