Baptisms

What is Baptism?

Baptism marks the beginning of our journey with God. The outward act of washing with water symbolizes the inward and spiritual action of God’s forgiveness and grace in our lives.

Common Questions

The act of baptism has a lot of rich symbolism. The water washing us represents how Jesus washes our sins and makes us clean. Jesus uses the metaphor of being “born again” to illustrate how he brings about a transformative change in our lives. The water in baptism demonstrates the idea of being “born again”. This ritual also serves as an initiation into Christ’s Church.

We baptize people of all ages, including infants. We believe infant baptism acknowledges and celebrates that God is present in our lives even before we recognize and acknowledge God’s presence.

We believe in one baptism. You do not need to be rebaptized if you are changing churches or are recommitting to a relationship with God. We believe God remains committed to us, even in times when we walk away or fall short.

We offer two types of baptism. We can do a sprinkling of water on the head. We also have an adult-sized tank if you want to be fully immersed in the water.

Godparents or sponsors are optional. We have families that do it both ways.
