Open Door Mission – Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This month, we will partner with our friends at the Open Door Mission at their Elkhorn Drop Off Location. Our volunteer opportunities include:

· Sorting donations, including hanging and sizing clothing |

· Sorting and tidying up the boutique areas at the Lydia House |
|
· Organizing their hygiene stock for distribution |
We share their vision of breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty in our community, and this is a fantastic way to spread the love of Jesus! Our goal is to send up to thirty-five volunteers to the Elkhorn campus to help them serve the homeless and near-homeless community.
Age Group—All ages are welcome! This is a family-friendly event, but we recommend that children be at least six years old. An adult must accompany any child under the age of 12.
Childcare – WE will host childcare in the WE Kids classroom 114, from 8:30 to 12:00 for this event. Kids from birth up to 10 are welcome. When you register, please include the information for each child attending the event or at church in childcare, so we can staff effectively.
Dress Code – Dress for success! Please wear closed-toed shoes, jeans, and your WE Serve T-shirt. All safety equipment is provided. If you don't have a WE Serve T-shirt, please email tim@weomaha.com.
Service (work): All work should be done indoors. Depending on the assignment, it may include lifting, sorting, and cleaning.
Location – WE will meet at the Open Door Mission (1620 N. 203rd St., Elkhorn, NE 68022) at 9:00 am to check in, pray, and serve.
Register – Everyone, including kids, need to register here at The Water’s Edge SignUp Genius. Everyone 16 or older will receive an email to create an account to register with the Open Door Mission.
