Middle School and High School Students

Who We Are

WE Youth at The Water’s Edge is a community that provides a safe and welcoming environment for middle and high school students. Our desire is to help students make meaningful connections, grow spiritually, and build strong relationships with others. WE Youth is open to all students currently in grades 6th to 12th.

Gatherings

WE Youth

Our middle and high school youth gather to connect with friends, build new relationships, and engage in LIFEgroup conversations to help students better grasp God’s word and its relevance in their lives.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the preparation process which helps students understand and to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment by professing their faith in Jesus Christ, publicly affirming their baptism, and partnering with The Water’s Edge as members of the church. Confirmation is open to any student who is currently in 8th grade or older.

Upcoming Events

Join us for the Water's Edge Youth's exciting annual spring fundraiser on Sunday, March 30, from 4:30 to 8:00 pm. This year, we're thrilled to present a lively team trivia competition-themed "Through the Decades." Gather your House Church, friends, or fellow trivia-ites, form a team of up to 8 players, and register for $200. Your registration fee covers a table for 8, delicious food, mouthwatering desserts, and team trivia participation. Individual registrations are also available for $25.

But that’s not all! We’ll also host an exciting raffle and a live auction, adding to the evening's fun. Don't want to find a babysitter? Childcare is available for $5 per child, and we’ll even provide a meal for the kids.

Don’t forget to have your table dress in their favorite decade—there will be prizes for the best-themed costumes! We can't wait to see you there for a memorable evening of fun and camaraderie while supporting our youth.

Memorial Scholarships

The memorial scholarships are generously provided by the families of three young men who were deeply involved in WE Youth. These scholarships enable students to participate in summer mission trips and honor the memory and legacy of the families’ sons’ service and involvement in WE Youth.

Why a ministry specifically for Middle School & High School Youth?

During the adolescent years, everything changes quickly in life. As students transition from children to young adults, they require guidance to navigate the challenges, struggles, questions, and changes they will face. That’s why WE are here!

What is a LIFEgroup?

WE believe students grow best when given the opportunity to engage one another in conversation and ask questions in a safe and caring environment. LIFEgroups are made up of smaller groups of students and guided by adults who choose to invest in and walk beside our students as they navigate their middle school and high school years. Each of our adult leaders has completed our volunteer training and gets weekly updates and guides for leading their groups.

I’m interested in volunteering with WE Youth, what do I need to know?

WE Youth volunteers are the heart of our ministry. Whether guiding a Sunday morning class, mentoring a confirmation student, greeting students, hosting a LIFEgroup, leading a service project, or going to camp or on a mission trip. WE always welcome more caring adults who are willing to invest their time and energy in our youth. Who are the volunteers?

Our team is dedicated adults who are committed to providing youth the opportunities to connect with God and others. To ensure the safety and well-being of the youth, our adult leaders have undergone ministry-specific training, completed an online abuse prevention, safety, and security course, and undergone background checks.
