The memorial scholarships are generously provided by the families of three young men who were deeply involved in WE Youth. These scholarships enable students to participate in summer mission trips and honor the memory and legacy of the families’ sons’ service and involvement in WE Youth.
The Blake McKune Youth Scholarship was established by Blake’s family through Rusty & Jen McKune. The scholarship was created in honor and memory of Blake McKune who passed away unexpectedly in an accident on October 28, 2018. Blake had a passion for life with his contagious smile and endless energy. His free spirit and compassion touched the lives of many and he loved bringing happiness to others. Blake was active in the youth ministry at The Water’s Edge and enjoyed participating in youth mission trips. It is the desire of the McKune Family that through this scholarship, The Water’s Edge youth will have the opportunity to participate in youth camps and mission trips; and, as Blake did, have the opportunity to experience, know, and resemble Christ through service to others.
